The road is something you lay down as you move, which turns a simple collect-and-dodge run into a decision about where the ground should go. Untwist Road builds its levels around that twist, and the difficulty comes from longer stretches with less road already in place. Thirteen ratings, five stars, and a mechanic that is genuinely unusual. It is a small game with one idea, and the idea is good enough to carry it.

How to Play

Three things decide whether a run here goes well:

• Keep the road extending ahead of you, and steer around whatever blocks the line.
• Collect the cylinders, avoid the obstacles, and do not run off the road you built.
• Lay road early and wide; a short repair in the middle of a run is usually fatal.
