Why We Picked Ufo Run

Ufo Run fits on one screen with one idea, which is the right size for the audience. It is swiping to move at a pace a child can set, with the option to stop halfway and come back. Nothing here is a test, and nothing keeps score against the child. It sits at 261 of 500, and the position says less than the repeat plays do. The page's own numbers: 4.7 out of 5 from 117 ratings.

How to Play

Three rules cover almost everything this game asks of you:

  • Swipe to commit; there is no undo beyond the restart.
  • There is no losing here, only a screen that has not been finished yet.
  • Choose a tablet over a phone when small fingers need bigger targets.

Editor’s Note

No timer, no fail state, no links out. Safe to leave a child with for ten minutes. Bright colors and simple shapes do the work that text would do on an older player's screen.

A tiny UFO with a big appetite for treasure: Ufo Run is an endless runner that swaps the usual sprinting hero for a brave little flying saucer exploring the mysterious corridors of an old castle. Your job is to keep it moving, keep it intact, and grab as many stars as you can along the way.

The controls follow the classic runner formula. Your UFO pushes forward on its own, and you guide it up or down to slip past whatever the castle throws in your path. Obstacles fill the corridors, from walls and barriers to tight gaps that demand quick adjustments, and one collision ends the run. Scattered through each corridor are stars, and collecting them is the point of the whole expedition, so you are constantly balancing safety against greed, veering toward a tempting cluster of stars only when the path around it is clear.

Like any good runner, the challenge builds the longer you survive. Early corridors are wide and forgiving, giving you room to learn how the UFO handles and how sharply it climbs and drops. As the run stretches on, the pace quickens, obstacle patterns grow denser, and the star trails start appearing in riskier spots, threading through gaps that punish hesitation. Chasing a new personal best becomes its own obsession, because the difference between a good run and a great one is often a single brave detour.

The most useful habit is to fly near the middle of the corridor whenever possible, since a central position gives you the most room to react in either direction. Learn the rhythm of the obstacle patterns instead of reacting to each one separately, and resist grabbing every star you see; a missed cluster costs nothing, while a greedy swipe at one tucked beside a wall can end a record pace run.

Runner fans and high score hunters will feel at home immediately. It is quick to learn, quick to restart, and built around that classic just one more try loop.
