Why We Picked Towerland
Towerland is a short platforming errand, and it does not pretend to be a campaign. The art does the storytelling that the script does not. Exploration is rewarded with shortcuts rather than collectibles, which keeps the pace up. It has been opened 426 times, and the retry button has probably seen more. On the record: 4.6 out of 5 from 14 ratings, and 161 of 183 on the adventure shelf.
How to Play
Three rules cover almost everything this game asks of you:
- Steer with the arrows and let the game handle the rest of the inputs.
- Reach the end of the level with what you picked up on the way.
- Learn how the character moves on safe ground before you need it over a hazard.
Editor’s Note
Short levels, generous checkpoints, and no penalty for leaving mid-run. Most of these run on a keyboard or a pointer; a few accept touch, and none require a plugin or a download.
