Tactical Penguin
Why We Picked Tactical Penguin
Tactical Penguin is decided by clicking to place and confirm rather than by the presentation, which is the right priority. The sport supplies the tension; the port only has to stay out of its way. It asks for clicking to place and confirm while the other side does the same, which is the whole tension of the genre. We kept it because the ball behaves, which is the bar and most games miss it. For reference: 1,731 plays, 3.5 out of 5 from 37 ratings, and 325 of 500 on the arcade shelf.
How to Play
The game is small enough to explain in three lines:
- The pointer is the only input, so a trackpad is as good as a mouse.
- Score more than the opposition before the clock runs out, and defend the lead rather than extending it.
- The near post is underrated and the goalkeeper knows it.
Editor’s Note
Not for anyone who wants commentary and a broadcast; the presentation is a scoreboard and a whistle. It is a match you can start and finish without committing an evening to it.
