Why We Picked Sea Rush
Sea Rush sits at the quieter end of this shelf: no timer, no lives, just the board and the space left on it until the board is complete. The loop is the board and the space left on it, and the tension comes from watching your own space shrink move by move. It is closer to a good crossword than to a good action game. We kept it because the rule is visible from the first screen and still holds at the last level. For reference: 523 plays, 5.0 out of 5 from 18 ratings, and 124 of 172 on the puzzle shelf.
How to Play
The page documents very little, so these are the things worth knowing before you spend time on it:
- Click once inside the game frame before using the keyboard; a freshly loaded iframe does not always have focus.
- Clear whatever the level asks you to clear, and count the space that the clear gives back.
- Name the gap you are protecting before you place anything near it.
Editor’s Note
If you want a puzzle that congratulates you, this is not it. If you want one that stays quiet, it is. Because the genre runs on rules rather than reflexes, a puzzle stays playable on a trackpad and an old browser.
